Turquoise-blue waters, dense primary rainforests, spectacular volcanic craters, and an underwater world of overwhelming beauty—hardly any other region on Earth is as steeped in myths and longings as the South Seas. And yet some of its islands are among the least-visited places in the world. The three-part documentary series “Unknown South Seas” embarks on cinematic journeys of discovery to three extraordinary island worlds in the Pacific: Kiribati, Niue, and Wallis & Futuna. 

We’ll be showing the episodes on Kiribati and Niue.
Kiribati is unique: it is the only country on Earth that spans all four hemispheres. Thirty-two atolls are scattered across an oceanic expanse as large as a continent. 
Niue is unlike any other island in the South Pacific: a landscape that seems otherworldly—with rugged coastlines, spectacular caves, and virtually inaccessible gorges.
